Description
The biweekly, semimonthly, & by paycheck budgeting spreadsheet is for people who need help budgeting from paycheck to paycheck. We lived this way at the beginning of our journey and would have loved an all-in-one tool like this. This spreadsheet lets you break your budget down into TWO pay periods on one page so that you can address the key elements of your budget all at once.
Less is more when it comes to a successful budget. This template has everything you need without overwhelming you with options you have no use for. It’s clean, automated, simple to use and extremely customizable.
*THIS VERSION IS FOR EXCEL ONLY*
Each month you’ll be able to:
- See visual representations of what you’ve budgeted for compared to what you’ve actually spent during each pay period
- Automatically calculate leftover money for debt payoffs or zero-based budgeting
- Track the important parts of your budget in extreme detail:
- Variable spending & cash envelopes
- Sinking funds & savings goals
- Debt payments
- Review data from previous months to see how you’ve improved (because you will improve!)
Read more about how a spreadsheet with this setup can help you successfully budget by paycheck.
This spreadsheet also includes a:
- Net Worth Tracker – Calculate your net worth, assets vs liabilities and auto-generate a graph from the information
- Bill Tracker – Use check boxes for an easy reference to show when certain bills are due throughout the year
- Debt Tracker – Input the details for your current debts. Track the current monthly balances and watch your automatically generated graph drop to $0 once you become debt free!

I’m so happy I found PTW on Instagram. I felt a connection to their content which led me to their website and the budgeting tools. Let me say, I am pretty darn good with Excel, but I was blown away with this template! I have now completed each tab with my personal information and couldn’t be happier with the results. The spreadsheets are thoughtfully created and very easy to use. I was able to make a few MINOR changes to make it my own as well, which I really appreciated the flexibility. Now I am able to open up my new budget tracker and know exactly where I am at financially. Every one plays different when you’re keeping score!!! Thank you PTW for giving me the inspiration to get in the debt reduction game!

I LOVE the design of this Paycheck Budgeting Spreadsheet and all the possibilities it offers, but I think there is not enough explanation. How to update the debt tracker for example? Once I add the balance and I add a payment why the balance doesn’t update? Is it even possible?
Dannie @ PenniesToWealth –
To update the debt tracker you just type in the current balance underneath the corresponding month. There is a picture that shows what it looks like. Everything else has a very detailed description of how it should be updated. Make sure you’ve read the entire instructions document because it has a lot of useful information and there is also a link to a Youtube Walkthrough at the bottom of the instructions as well. Hope that helps! – DJ

I like your spreadsheet very much. It’s exactly what I need- not too detailed but a great way to plan my month How do I re-download the form? I’ve messed up a couple of formulas and want to start over. It was my understanding that I could re-download the template at no cost. Can you assist? Thank you.

Hi Laura,
You can either log back into your account to redownload the spreadsheet or check your email because I resent the original email with all of your links. I hope that helps. – Dannie
